Western trip

We travelled into western Queensland to check out the historical sites and of course the Longreach Hall of Fame. We also visited the QANTAS museum during our stay in Longreach. Lots of kilometres and lots of history, the trip took about three weeks all up with our close friends who also are caravanners.

I didn’t bother with a story about the trip, just took mobs of pictures.

This trip was also in our 475 Coromal and the TDI disco, our friends were in a V6 commodore towing a 435 Coromal poptop..

Western Queensland

We traveled with a couple we have known for many years . They have a lot more caravan miles on the clock than us. They are on their second or third van whereas this was our first trip towing a van.

We found the going easy with our Landrover DIscovery TDI though it certainly knew there was something on the back when going up a the hills. We traveled west to Hughenden then South to Winton to sort of start the trip.

This was fairly familiar country as I had traveled it frequently during my working life. Both my mate and I covered the area at least twice a year in company vehicles and this was the first for both of us by van.

I think the pictures tell the story quite well so suffice to say we had a great time and never had any problems with our little TDI and 4.75 S/T Coromal pop top.
